Weekly Women's Biodanza in Canberra
Swaha Devi hosts a Women's Biodanza session every Monday night in Canberra. These sessions offer a wonderful opportunity to connect with women's community and to nurture your body, heart and mind through simple movement, lightheartedness and connection. Free taster sessions are on offer every few months, as well as Biodanza day retreats.
You can also book Swaha Devi for private Biodanza for women (or a mixed group) for your group of friends or corporate events.

Why Women's Biodanza?
Women have been gathering in circles since the beginning of time. This special women’s only Biodanza class is an invitation on a luscious journey to rediscover the power and delight of being a woman, through an exquisite combination of dance, relaxation, social connection and music.
During a sesssion we use dance and other conscious movement to connect deeply into our bodies, our hearts and our hopes and dreams for life. These sessions are accessible to all women (over 18) regardless of physical ability.
These sessions provide is an inclusive and supportive space to rediscover your authentic expression, through movement, in ways that feel good for you. Swaha Devi always offers options for any movement invitation, including options for sitting or laying down if this suits your body best.
From its beginning to its end these gatherings will deepen your connection to your body’s wisdom and intuition, develop more trust and flexibility in your body and mind, increase your self-confidence and ignite your life!

What is Biodanza?
Biodanza has its roots in human biology and other life sciences and art and is practiced on all continents by hundreds of thousands of people.
Biodanza classes are an invitation to Dance with Life, reawaken your Joy of Living and land in the present moment. It gives you energy to face life’s opportunities and challenges and find new ways to be and live, learn, grow and express yourself.
The health benefits of movement and social connections are numerous and include; reducing stress, improving mood, higher self-esteem, better immune system function, improved agility, balance and coordination.
Each dance has a specific purpose to give you a lived experience relating to the theme.
Biodanza was created by Rolando Toro Araneda a Chilean anthropologist, clinical psychologist and artist.

How is women's Biodanza different?
The format of the class is no different than any other Biodanza class. However when we gather together as women only, a special space is created, allowing a different sort of safety and ease to explore more of yourself, and find your true authentic expression, before sharing these parts with the world. This class is also an entry point into becoming a part of a women's community that connection through Biodanza, transformational women's retreats, other powerful transformative women's gatherings hosted by Swaha, as well as more social gatherings.

Everything in Biodanza is an invitation.
The dances and invitations are carefully designed to support you to explore yourself, your relationship to others, to your creativity and to life.
The group is offered guidance from the facilitator before each invitation to move or create, however you are then invited to find your own movement within this guidance.
